Love the Sea, Reduce Plastic Waste

Plastic waste is a rubbish that is difficult to decompose and can cause pollution. Since the 1950s, plastic production still leaves seven million tons of garbage.  Because of that, the government and environmental care organizations in the whole world take it seriously. Although the problem is quite serious, there are several solutions that can be done.

One of the first problems with plastic waste is killing marine life. Marine animals think that this is food. This is evidenced by the discovery of plastic waste in the stomach and throat when dead sea animals. An example is turtles think that floating plastic is a jellyfish. The result is that many marine animals are almost extinct. Another major problem is that plastic waste is harmful to humans. Small plastic particles will be consumed by marine animals. Toxins in plastic will be absorbed by these marine animals, if marine animals are consumed by humans, the poison will move to humans.

There have been many appeals and rules relating to reducing the use of plastic. The government gave action by issuing Government Regulation No.19 of 1999 concerning Marine Pollution and/or Damage Control. Environmental care organizations make a trend to reduce plastic waste. An example is replacing the use of plastic straws into straws made of stainless or wood. Citizens also take action by shopping using totebag or ecobag or traveling with their own drinking bottles.

In conclude, plastic waste in the sea is a serious problem throughout the world. Everyone tries to find solutions to reduce the problem of plastic waste. But all that goes back to the self-awareness of every human being, if you want to save marine animals then you should make an appeal to care for the environment
